About Us
Our goal is to create a supportive mentorship group for younger girls where they can build confidence, develop friendships, and have positive role models. We want our participants to have a fun time learning about themselves and others!
Our Mission
Program Details
Big Sis is a completely free, six-week mentorship program for young girls. In each session, we have weekly meetings based in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Our target age group is 3rd-5th graders, but we are flexible if a child would benefit from this program and is outside of this range. Each elementary school participant is paired with a high school mentor, creating a supportive “big sister” relationship.
The majority of the meetings are held at the Drakeford Library Complex and include games, activities, and arts and crafts designed to promote confidence, friendship, and self-esteem. Our goal is to create a fun and encouraging environment where younger girls can build connections, express themselves, and feel supported!
